Lone Star Rail District’s current phase of engineering and environmental studies includes taking a close look at each of the up to 16 proposed station locations and the communities they serve. Previous studies looking at specific proposed stations are included here.

| The Rail District, in partnership with the City of Austin and Capital Metro, completed a station location study for the Seaholm District in downtown Austin—a lakeside redevelopment district surrounding the city’s historic former power plant. The study’s purpose was to identify a rail station location that would provide multimodal—rail, bus, streetcar circulator, pedestrian, bicycle—connections and access to nearby residential developments, employment, and downtown destinations. |
| The Rail District conducted economic impact analyses on the 15 preliminary station locations, focusing on the economic development potential for each station area; transit-oriented development opportunities; and the implications for local tax base and property tax revenue. |
